Though Asian-American hip-hop artist Star2 is based in San Diego, California, his roots belong in Asia.
Born in a refugee camp in Mae La, Thailand, Star2’s family walked to the Thai border when their village was burned to the ground by Myanmar soldiers. A member of the Karen hill tribe from Myanmar, Star2 emigrated to California with his grandmother and her four children when he was five.
He first entered the entertainment industry when he appeared in the second season of Workpoint's Super 10 performing a luk thung genre song. He later appeared and won first runner-up on Show Me The Money Thailand Season 2. This catapulted him into fame where he became a major figure in the Thai hip hop scene. He debuted his first digital single Ai Tao on Nov 20, 2020 which has 67 million views on YouTube, currently.
He made Thai history when his song Thon made it to No.89 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and has more than 340 million YouTube views, till date. It also appeared on the Spotify daily viral chart in many countries across Southeast Asia.
His music is versatile and within both the hip-hop and trap genres, with deep lyrics that touch on challenging topics like politics and personal struggles, often serving as a vehicle for him to express his emotions. His fans respond to his honesty and his verses talking about the difficulties he has encountered in his young life and career. His most well-known songs include XOXO, thn, Kiminoto, W.R.U, Trust Again, bang'r, Run The Town, ai'taaw, ediiywdaay, and ekiiywphaaraasii.
His songs include rapid-fire rap ability, wordplay and technical prowess together with his emotional honesty and vulnerability.

His most recent collab is with Thai rapper “Sprite" aka Sukkonlawat Pucsombat from Chachoengsao. The cinematic world of One Of A Kind, is a gripping secret agent story brought to life by Star2 and Sprite. Their collaboration weaves a narrative that reflects on shared struggles with poverty, early age responsibilities and the challenges of rising to fame.
Star2 and Sprite have also collaborated with Luh Kel called Where Would You Go?, which makes its debut on Jan 17.
