Roll into the epic weekend at Asai Bangkok Sathorn's block party

Living it up on Sathon 10 and 12

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Asai Bangkok Sathorn gives you many reasons to wake up early on this weekend. The newly-opened lifestyle hotel is throwing "The Hamlet Block Party", making an entrance into the hip and bustling side of Bangkok's CBD.

Be among the first guests to explore the brand new hotel, where artworks and toy collections are on display inside guest rooms. On Saturday, have an early afternoon with friends or family as burger joint Little Market and Burmese cuisine Laday Googoo will set up pop-ups until 2pm. If it is too early, Chefs Duangporn “Bo” Songvisava and Dylan Jones of Bo.lan fame will helm Err Urban Rustic Thai and whip up Thai delights with a pop-up dinner. It will stay open until late should you need a hangover recovery meal before you bounce.

Wait for Pichai “Eak” Keawvichit, a win-motosai driver-turned-photographer, who will join on stage with other up-and-coming artists for an art talk. You can learn street snapping tricks with him at his masterclass, which will take place afterwards. Drag queens and drum performers will kick off the opening ceremony with a bang in the evening, along with a line-up of DJs to keep the good time rolling.

The block party is not limited to the hotel alone as nearby restaurants and bars on Sathorn 10 and 12 are also joining in the fun, rolling out special events and deals. For example, an aperitivo hour with Aperol spritz at Sorrento, specially priced pizza at Cetara, a lucky draw at Bardo Social Bistro and Bar, and Mezcal's and Café Des Stagiairess' drag shows.

Sunday's programme is geared towards creating an even friendlier atmosphere, focusing on a relaxing experience after the wild night. Delight in a hearty brunch in the style of Italian trattorias curated by chefs Manuelo Pintore from Giglio and Miro Mattalia from Cetara. Once your stomach is satiated, do a bioplastic workshop with Hutsama at 2pm or a latte art class by Rocket Coffee Bar at 3pm.

Tickets for the event, as well as workshops, are available at bit.ly/3BPtkBy.
