Culinary extravaganza / InterContinental Khao Yai Resort / Aug 9-12

Embark on a gastronomic journey from the shores of Phu Quoc, Vietnam, to Khao Yai, with InterContinental Khao Yai Resort’s “Culinary Extravaganza” showcasing guest chef Danny Huynh from Regent Phu Quoc, from Aug 9-12. In keeping with the train theme of the resort, the event will be held in Poirot Restaurant, which is housed in an upcycled heritage train carriage, named after Agatha Christie’s famous detective Hercule Poirot. Chef Huynh will be cooking a four-course dinner taking guests on a culinary journey of Vietnam, while InterContinental Khao Yai Resort’s executive chef Nirut Pochsalee, will conclude the culinary journey with dessert. Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel has launched the "Giant Burger” promotion at Greenhouse Restaurant and Terrace. Available daily throughout August and September, the offer is for burger enthusiasts and anyone looking for a unique dining challenge. Experience the 18cm Giant Beef Burger, served with an array of gourmet toppings and a variety of scrumptious sides, including curly fries, potato wedges, French fries and onion rings. This feast is ideal for groups of four. The feast comes with a challenge. During August, devour the Giant Burger set solo within 30 minutes and earn a complimentary night's stay with an inclusive breakfast at Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok. K-taste extravaganza / Next2 Café / Aug 9-17

Guest chef Kyohoon Koo from Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu, the Philippines, adds sizzling and spicy flavours of Korean cuisine to the buffet selection at Next2 Café for a limited period. Embark on a nine-day culinary journey filled with Haepari naengchae (jelly fish salad with sweet and sour mustard sauce), Kimchi jigae (pork kimchi stew), Haemul jeon (seafood pancake) and more. Yantra unveiled / Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort / Until Aug 25

Yantra, Singapore’s Indian dining destination, will be hosted for a pop-up at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, until Aug 25. Under the direction of culinary historian Pritha Sen and executive chef Pinaki Ray, “Yantra Unveiled” embraces a philosophy that blends reverence for tradition with innovative flair. The menu showcases an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies, with each dish using rare and premium ingredients sourced from across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Expect Chaat Banarasi, Paneer achari tikka, Ema datshi, a classic Bhutanese and Tibetan chilli-cheese soup or the Chingri malaikari. Visit the hotel’s website.

Oyster indulgence / Diplomat Bar / Aug 2

Conrad Bangkok will host an “All-You-Can-Eat Oyster” promotion at Diplomat Bar on Aug 2. Diners will have the opportunity to delight in four oyster varieties, including Geay Speciales Fine De Claire No. 4, Marennes d’Oléron Fine De Claire No. 4, L’Ultime Geay No. 4 and La Friandise by Geay No. 4. The InterContinental Koh Samui Resort will offer "Doubling The Delicious", a five-course menu crafted by chef Tim Butler of Eat Me Bangkok, showcasing his culinary prowess and dedication to sustainability. Chef Butler's menu is together with the resort's executive chef Amporn Choeng-Ngam. The dinner is to also showcase the resort's commitment to redefining dining experiences through sustainable practices. Each dish is meticulously curated with predominantly locally-sourced produce from Thailand. Future masters / Hop Photo Gallery and Whoop! / Until Oct 13

Tomorrow will be the first day of "Emerge: Photography Exhibition 2024”, which gathers works from university students across Thailand. From more than 100 student works, 30 curated collections from 30 artists have been selected by a committee that includes Virunan Chiddaycha, Chol Janepraphaphan, Ampannee Satoh and the three founders and creative directors of Hop. Each collection serves as a window into its era, reflecting personal perspectives, creative techniques, composition processes, and storytelling through photographic art. Emerge serves as a launchpad for students and graduates aspiring to become artists and photographers.

"Mama Meow: The Love Of Cat's Mommy Is No Reason" is an exhibition by a group of artists from various disciplines, who have come together for their common love for cats. Illustrators, ceramicists, digital artists, photographers and more will showcase diverse works inspired by cats alongside cate-related products such as T-shirts, handicrafts, books and more. Around 30% of the proceeds from the exhibition sales will be donated to three organisations dedicated to the welfare of stray cats and dogs — Rak Maew Pan Nam Jai Foundation For Stray Cats, Cat Lumpini and Catster By Kingdom of Tigers.

Trisara Phuket has launched the limited-time “Wellspring Programme”. The package is a collaboration with Tri Vananda and offers guests a two-night stay at Trisara. Guests will be shown around Pru Jampa organic farm in Tri Vananda after which a lunch at Jampa will be served. In addition to the farm and dining experiences, the Wellspring package also entitles guests to a round-trip airport transfer, daily international breakfast for two persons and complimentary non-motorised water sports. The Wellspring offer is available until Oct 31. Until the end of September, the package includes in-room chocolate truffles, cookies, tea and coffee, and B2,500 resort credit. Dim sum / Summer Palace

Summer Palace at the InterContinental Bangkok has launched an all-you-can-eat dim sum menu crafted by executive Chinese chef Yau Sui Wing. Available for lunch every day of the week, savour a selection of dim sum prepared in Hong Kong style. Steamed delights include the classic Ha Gao prawn dumplings and a sophisticated black truffle dumpling with vegetable and fresh mushrooms. Wok-fried turnip cake, served with chef Yau's XO sauce and a baked fresh milk and egg white tart, offer a delightful taste experience. Crispy deep-fried selections such as king crab meat and avocado spring rolls, and chives, scallop, and shrimp mini pancakes promise a crispy, flavourful bite. The stylish Chinese dining destination at Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town is celebrating the magic of the Mid-Autumn Festival for the first time with a collection of mooncakes. Four classic mooncakes are available, packaged in a luxurious red box. Each box is adorned with emblems of plum blossom, birds and Yue Restaurant & Bar’s golden logo on a deep-red background. Flavours are: Double egg yolk with sweet white lotus paste, Red bean paste with goji berry, Pandan lotus paste with melon seed and Green tea paste. With the “Monsoon Flavors” promotion, guests can escape the rain and rediscover six ancient Thai recipes. Spicy appetisers, including Paco fern salad with minced pork, shrimp and crispy shallots and Shrimp paste chili dip with season vegetables and fried Thai mackerel. Unusual herbs and vegetables will be incorporated into dishes such as Stir-fried cowslip creeper flowers with salted egg and white shrimp and Sour soup with Thai mackerel, sesbania flowers and sea catfish roe. Unique pieces / Alexander Lamont Studio

The Alexander Lamont Studio has reworked some original examples in newly developed finishes to create iconic, one-of-a-kind pieces each with an intricate tactile surface. Japanese tansu were typically used to store kimono, personal effects or kitchen objects. Made from a variety of different woods, tansu are simple in form but striking with their custom-made metalwork details. Working with natural lacquer and combining the techniques of lacquered eggshell, straw marquetry, shagreen and bronze, each tansu cabinet is crafted by a single artisan from start to finish to bring harmony to the piece. Outdoor furniture / Jim Thompson x Kitt.Ta.Khon

Jim Thompson combines Thai craft techniques with high-performance fabrics in their latest collaboration with Thai furniture brand Kitt.Ta.Khon, resulting in colourful, easy-to-use and durable furniture for the outdoors. The collaboration combines Jim Thompson’s Archipelago Collection performance fabrics and Kitt.Ta.Khon’s innovative interpretation of Thai craft techniques with modern methods. The Archipelago collection translates patterns and colours inspired by islands into durable, high-lightfastness textured weaves that are soft to the touch. The furniture range of three types of seating uses powder-coated aluminium structures finished with a recycled plastic pattern, adorned with cushion covers using Jim Thompson’s performance fabric. The Pandan chair, the priciest, is designed to reflect the beauty of simple weave patterns and the natural interplay of light and shadow that weaving creates. The Mudjai chair, which looks like it doubles as a luggage bench, is adorned with Ikat-patterned fabric and features woven patterns on the legs. Home collection / Coqui Coqui x H&M Home / From Aug 8

H&M Home has collaborated with lifestyle and fragrance brand Coqui Coqui Residences & Spa, founded by Nicolas Malleville and Francesca Bonato, to create a 26-piece interior collection. Playing on the idea of “home away from home”, the collection includes two new scents. Inspired by the residences of Coqui Coqui Coba, within the verdant jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula and Bora Bora, the two new fragrances, Flores de Yucatan and Vétyvers du Pacifique, are offered as room sprays, diffusers, scented candles and scented cards. The diffusers can be placed in a glass dome with a wooden base, which is also part of the collection. Each scent has been developed in Grasse, in the south of France. In addition to the scents, the collection spans a range of textiles and ceramic items from terry towels, beach bags and foldable trays. The collection will be available in stores from Aug 8.
