Somerset Pattaya puts you right in the heart of hotspots

TRAVEL

Standing 24 storeys tall on Pattaya Sai Song, Somerset Pattaya, Ascott's first property in the beachside town, puts their guests in the heart of dining, shopping, nightlife and more.

With 324 rooms across a dozen accommodation types to choose from, Somerset Pattaya can cater to all kinds of holidays, from a getaway for two, a petcation or a big family vacation. The Standard Room is 35m², while the top-tier Three-Bedroom Premier With Seaview is four times the size. Certain room types also allow pawrents to check in with their furry babies but they will have to pay an extra fee and there's a weight limit of up to 12kg per pet.

For a few add-ons without paying a pretty penny, you may want to consider a Studio Executive, a mid-tier choice of 55m² with a bathtub, full-size refrigerator and washing machine. Those looking for a home-away-from-home for a family getaway can live large in the Three-Bedroom Premier With Seaview where a family of six can comfortably settle in and enjoy separate dining and living areas, ensuite bathrooms for all three bedrooms, two balconies and a fully-equipped kitchen.

The only on-site restaurant Sea To Serve, children's playroom and gym are on the second floor. As you can tell, Sea To Serve specialises in seafood and whips up fancy dishes such as Seared scallops topped with caviar on a bed of mushrooms, Spaghetti with shrimp paste espuma and Oil-blanched grilled beef. The nautically themed restaurant hosts a lavish seafood buffet from Fridays to Sundays for lunch or dinner. Two hitches are that you have 90 minutes to indulge in all the fruits of the sea and should you want to indulge in the all-you-can-eat a la carte menu, you'll have to pay more.

The nautical theme continues in the playroom where kids can ride a slide down to a ball pit, pretend to steer a pirate ship or conquer a climbing wall. While kids can enjoy free activities twice a day in the morning and the afternoon, adults can also enjoy free activities such as Thai boxing, circuit training and abs workout at the gym, Pilates and yoga in the garden or aqua aerobics in the rooftop swimming pool.

More facilities await on the top two floors and you'll miss out if you don't check them out. Not all rooms guarantee a sea view but the 23rd and 24th floors afford guests a stunning panoramic view of Pattaya Bay. The infinity-edge swimming pool and its bar on the 23rd floor seem like a great spot for those who look to take a dip or toast the sunset.

On the rooftop 24 floor, a mini waterpark complete with a pirate ship, a slider, a water canon and a water curtain awaits the little ones while Sky Lounge on the other side of the floor is where guests can enjoy a fine dinner with a side of a stunning view overlooking Pattaya Bay.

While the main beach is only two minutes away on foot and on-site parking space is provided, guests also have the option to get a free shuttle ride to explore the neighbourhood. It goes north up to Terminal 21, passes Pattaya Beach and goes south to Pattaya Walking Street. Also, within a walking radius of the hotel, there are already many attractions to check out such as Central Pattaya, Alcazar Cabaret Show and Tiffany Show. Somerset Pattaya offers various packages, visit the website.
