New PM talks big

Re: "I will make every inch of Thailand fit ... ", (InQuote, Aug 19).

Did the new PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra say, "every inch of Thailand ...?"

I applaud the imperial approach. As to the rest of her statement of "fit for those who dare to dream, to create and to write their own future," the point is that so many did exactly that in the last election when their votes were given to the Move Forward Party and then were essentially ignored.

After a short break

Re: "Biden out, Harris in", (PostBag, July 23).

It looks like Eric Bahrt is back to his old tricks. He tells us now that even though he has been a lifelong Democrat supporter in the US, he may not vote for presidential candidate Kamala Harris now, among other things. I vowed never to write to this publication so long as the above man stopped doing so. His hiatus lasted for about a month at most.

Who do you trust?

Re: "Experts warn mpox poses serious threat to Thailand", (BP, Aug 20).

The monkeypox virus was first discovered 50 years ago by Western medicine but has probably existed for hundreds of years.

Mpox is a zoonotic virus, meaning it was and continues to be transferred to humans by various animals, including squirrels and monkeys, thus its prevalence in the Congo region, where tradition and poverty have maintained a thriving bushmeat trade.

Primary transmission among humans is via skin contact with an infected person, and evidence of transmission via air has not been established.

The rate of death in the very primitive Congo region is reported by the WHO to be 3%, and most cases involve comorbidity factors and a large percentage of misdiagnosis problems, especially those related to distinguishing mpox blisters from those caused by chickenpox.

However, Dr Jessica Rose, an eminent Canadian virologist and epidemiologist, has analysed data from Our World In Data and found the reported global death rate from mpox to be much lower -- a 1 in 5 billion chance of dying from mpox according to the current "case" and "death" rates. Who do you trust?

One might ask why so-called experts eagerly serve as exalted sales and marketing representatives for the pharma industry? Why do they hide the fact that mpox is now appearing in the very same countries where the m-RNA vaccines were widely distributed? What about the fact that Covid vaccines significantly impaired the human immune system? Remember the vaccine-induced outbreaks of herpes, shingles, and auto-immune blistering disease -- all similar in presentation to mpox? Why was mpox vaccine production revved up prior to the WHO declaring mpox to be a "public health emergency of international concern"?

In summary, the rebranded mpox is another egregious fraud facilitated by fear-mongering propaganda and complicit health experts across the globe.

Srettha's legacy

Re: "The rise and fall of Srettha Thavisin", (Opinion, Aug 20).

Srettha Thavisin -- somehow, sets a high standard for ethics and competence in a role that devours rather than delivers. Thais will remember him for his untiring efforts and for his socks.
