Big brother's brace
Re: "Thaksin expects Yingluck to return home around Songkran", (BP, Nov 19).
Perhaps former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra can save a bit of money by borrowing a neck brace from her brother before embarking on her return to Thailand so she doesn't need to purchase her own. Slightly used, but hey, it certainly worked miracles for big brother.
Re: "Thaksin expects Yingluck to return home around Songkran", (BP, Nov 19).
As if running away from justice is already awful enough, when Thailand allowed former PM Thaksin Shinawatra to return to face justice and granted him amnesty, the aftermath was disastrous for the image of the justice system and the Department of Corrections.
Thaksin did not spend a day in prison, claiming that he was critically ill. This was under the government's nose and upset public sentiment.
Nowadays, there are so many unethical events and widespread financial losses among residents in our country.
Maybe former PM Yingluck's return will again challenge the power of the judicial system. Or will it be just another movement to show the power of family politics?
Re: "Why don't you ask Khun Thaksin yourself?", (InQuote, Nov 19).
This is a typical tone-deaf response from Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra responding to media questions about her father's manipulations, or not. Just say yes.
Burin Kantabutra has been writing to PostBag for as long as I can remember (at least 20 years)! With all the good advice he constantly offers, perhaps he should/could run for political office. In this capacity, he could better attempt to change Thai policies rather than help influence the minds of Post readers! I'm certain we would all vote for him.
Re: "'Aem cyanide' gets death penalty for kill spree", (BP, Nov 21).
The report of the serial killer being sentenced to death for killing one victim with cyanide and suspected of killing 14 people was eerie to read when the victims were her friends. The motive was theft to pay gambling debts.
Full praise should go to the police for having caught the murderer before the number rose above 14 people. One is looking forward to the next report of how the police succeeded in solving this crime.
