Makoto Teguramori rued the missed opportunities as his star-studded BG Pathum United dropped points in a 1-1 Thai League 1 draw with mid-table Nongbua Pitchaya at home on Saturday night.

Teerasil Dangda put the Rabbits ahead in the 49th minute but Nongbua Pitchaya equalised in the 70th minute when Weerayut Sriwichai struck for the visitors.

Pathum coach Teguramori said after the match: "We have just returned to the league action and we wanted to continue our winning momentum, but it is a pity that we couldn't do it tonight.

"During the first half, we had chances but lacked sharpness in front of the goal.

"We sent Teerasil in after the break and the team looked better. We were able to grab a goal but couldn't score more and conceded the equaliser from a set-piece.

"Nongbua's defence played very well. We tried to create chances until the last minute of the match but they played with patience and prevented us from scoring.

"We are not the defending champions and we don't have the team that could get three points in every match."

Nongbua assistant coach Krittanan Yannaparb said: "We had done our homework in the two-week break. It was a pleasing performance by the team tonight."

In the other match at the 80th Anniversary Stadium on Saturday night, hosts Nakhon Ratchasima shared a point with Bangkok United after a 1-1draw.

The Angels went in front in the 69th minute through Richairo Zivkovic, but Nakhon Ratchasima's unrelenting attacks produced the equaliser four minutes from time when Anurak Mungdee scored.
