Thai Oil Public Company Limited (Thaioil) has unveiled its innovative 3Cs strategy at the FTI EXPO 2025, reinforcing its commitment to driving the energy sector towards sustainability. The event, held from February 12-15, 2025, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, welcomed key industry leaders, including the Prime Minister, executives, and employees from PTT Group and Thaioil Group.
Mrs. Rungnapa Janchookiat, Executive Vice President - Corporate Commercial of Thaioil, introduced the 3Cs strategy as a roadmap for achieving Net Zero emissions. The strategy focuses on three key areas:
C1: Cut Down Existing Emissions – Thaioil is actively reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its production processes through energy efficiency improvements. Over the past decade (2012-2024), the company has successfully cut emissions by over 456,000 tons of CO2 equivalent. Additionally, Thaioil is conducting feasibility studies on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology to capture and permanently store carbon dioxide underground.
C2: Compensate Residual Emissions – The company is offsetting residual greenhouse gas emissions through reforestation projects and carbon credit compensation. Between 2019-2024, Thaioil Group has accumulated approximately 1.68 million tons of CO2 equivalent in carbon credits through energy efficiency initiatives and the installation of solar rooftop systems at its Sriracha office.
C3: Control Future Emissions – Thaioil is investing in low-carbon businesses to manage future emissions. Through its subsidiary, TOP Ventures Co. Ltd., the company is supporting green hydrogen startups and other environmentally sustainable technologies.
Thaioil remains steadfast in its vision: “Empowering Human Life through Sustainable Energy and Chemicals.” The company aims to become a low-carbon organization, aligning with Thailand’s national sustainability goals. Thaioil has set ambitious targets to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and reach Net Zero emissions by 2060, reinforcing its role as a leader in the transition to a greener future.
