"Sansiri" joins forces with "TOA" to announce green mission Focusing on developing residential innovations - materials for environment and health

TOA partners with Sansiri to launch the “Green Mission,” focusing on developing residential innovations with eco-friendly and healthcare materials.

TOA Paint (Thailand) Public Company Limited (TOA), a leading innovator in paint and coatings, has partnered with Sansiri Public Company Limited, one of Thailand’s largest real estate developers, to launch the “Green Mission” – a full-scale initiative aimed at achieving Net-Zero. The collaboration underscores innovation as the key driver in the long-term development of sustainable products.

A Major Milestone in the Real Estate Sector

Sansiri Public Company Limited, the first real estate developer in Thailand to commit to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, has joined forces with TOA Paint (Thailand) Public Company Limited (TOA), a leader in sustainable paint and building materials. This partnership marks a new chapter in advancing green initiatives at every stage of operations, setting a benchmark for environmentally responsible business practices.

Mr. Prasert Trakranvachirahut, Executive Vice President of Sansiri reaffirmed that sustainability remains central to the company’s operations. Recognising the climate crisis as an urgent issue affecting all industries, he highlighted the vital role businesses play in addressing environmental and social challenges. This collaboration is a crucial step for Sansiri and its partners in the Green Ecosystem as they work together to transition towards a sustainable future under the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) framework. Sansiri expressed appreciation for TOA’s commitment to ESG principles, demonstrated through numerous impactful projects.

Having been partners for many years, Sansiri and TOA share a common goal of developing housing solutions that minimise environmental impact. TOA’s eco-friendly products, certified with the Carbon Footprint Reduction (CFR) label, have already been integrated into more than 22 Sansiri projects, with plans for ongoing research and product development.

Sustainable Living and Green Innovation

“In 2025, Sansiri will further enhance Green Living Design in its new luxury and premium segment products, aiming to reduce energy consumption by 50%, up from 40% the previous year. A key part of its sustainability strategy is the Green Supply Chain Model, encouraging suppliers to develop environmentally friendly materials and reduce overall environmental impact. This partnership with TOA represents a vital step in advancing innovation in paints and building materials, improving existing solutions for better living quality,” explained Mr. Prasert.

Sansiri also prioritises sustainability in construction from the ground up. It operates Thailand’s first green precast concrete factory, integrating waste management innovations that reduce precast production waste by up to 98%, while maintaining noise and air pollution levels well below regulatory limits. The company also employs advanced technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) to optimise planning and minimise resource consumption.

By embedding sustainability into its core business strategy, Sansiri collaborates with over 4,000 stakeholders across the supply chain, incorporating Green Architecture & Design, Green Construction, and Green Procurement. This approach not only strengthens the real estate sector—valued at THB 1.05 trillion (5.8% of GDP)—but also contributes to national environmental goals.

TOA’s Commitment to a Sustainable Future

Mr. Jatuphat Tangkaravakoon, Chief Executive Officer of TOA Paint (Thailand) Public Company Limited, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to achieving Net-Zero. With a 60-year legacy, TOA has led the Thai and ASEAN paint markets with a strong focus on consumer health and environmental sustainability. It was the first paint manufacturer in Thailand to eliminate heavy metals, mercury, and lead from architectural paints as early as 1977.

“The company continues to innovate with eco-friendly building materials and energy-saving solutions. A key highlight is the ‘SuperShield’ Cool Paint innovation, a heat-reflective paint technology developed to efficiently reflect solar heat. It can reflect up to 97.5% of heat and release 90% of absorbed heat from building walls, meeting ASTM C1371 standards. As a result, indoor temperatures can be reduced by up to 5.5°C, according to Energy Plus simulation tests. This translates into lower air conditioning energy consumption and long-term cost savings.”

From 2022 to 2024, Sansiri has incorporated TOA’s eco-friendly, CFR-certified products into its low-rise and high-rise projects. This initiative has helped reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by 1,215 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (TonCO₂e)—comparable to planting 108 acres of trees. The collaboration between TOA and Sansiri not only enhances the quality of life for residents but also plays a significant role in advancing Thailand’s greenhouse gas reduction goals under the ESG framework, a key guideline for sustainable business and societal development,” said Mr. Jatuphat.

Committed to developing environmentally friendly products, TOA has received Carbon Footprint Reduction (CFR) certification from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) for 133 products—including two gypsum board products and 131 architectural paints. Additionally, 320 TOA products have been certified for Carbon Footprint of Products (CFP), making TOA the most certified eco-friendly paint and building materials manufacturer in the market. This reflects TOA’s leadership in sustainable and environmentally responsible innovation.

Beyond product innovation, TOA has set an ambitious target to cut its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and achieve Net-Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

“Sustainable Homes Are Not Just a Trend—They Are the Future”

“Building homes that prioritise environmental sustainability is not just a passing trend but a lasting movement towards meaningful change,” said Mr. Jatuphat. “This collaboration between TOA and Sansiri showcases the commitment of Thai businesses to playing an active role in combating climate change and building a better future for generations to come.”

While the real estate sector may not be a direct major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, its value chain relies heavily on energy-intensive processes. The alliance between Sansiri and TOA represents a firm commitment to creating a sustainable housing model, paving the way for reduced environmental impact, mitigating business risks, and positioning sustainability as a core priority in the evolving global economy.
