Thailand's DITP Strengthens Online Export Drive with Renewed Shopee Partnership

SINGAPORE, March 14th, 2025 — Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) has solidified its commitment to boosting online exports by signing a second Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shopee Thailand. This agreement, announced at the 7th  Singapore-Thailand Enhanced Economic Relationship Ministerial Meeting, aims to generate over 20 million baht in annual sales, providing crucial online market access for Thai Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) across Southeast Asia.

Building upon a successful partnership that concluded in September 2024, the renewed MOU will expand the DITP’s TOPTHAI online storefront project through Shopee’s International Platform (SIP) Program. The signing was witnessed by Thailand’s Minister of Commerce, Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, and Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Dr. Tan See Leng.

This campaign, running from February 1st to April 30th, 2025, features over 9,000 Thai products and commemorates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore. Notably, this promotion is poised to achieve sales of over 7 million baht.

The Shopee TOPTHAI store, the seventh collaboration of its kind with major global platforms, enables consumers in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines to purchase Thai goods through their local Shopee interfaces. The DITP's objective is to onboard over 3,000 Thai entrepreneurs to the Shopee TOPTHAI store, further expanding their reach in the region.
