Bolt has become the first ride-hailing platform in Thailand to introduce Flight Tracking for Scheduled Rides, offering travellers and business customers a smoother airport transfer experience. This innovative service is now available at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), Don Mueang (DMK), and Phuket International Airport (HKT).
Passengers booking a ride from the airport can now sync their flight details with the Bolt app. If a flight is delayed or cancelled, the system will automatically adjust the pick-up time or cancel the trip without additional charges—eliminating the stress of last-minute rebookings and ensuring price transparency.
According to the National Economic and Social Development Council, Thailand is forecast to welcome 38 million foreign tourists in 2025, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s top travel destinations. In 2024, Suvarnabhumi Airport handled over 60 million passengers, making it one of Southeast Asia’s busiest transport hubs. With airport transfers often complicated by delays—especially during the rainy season (May to October)—Bolt’s new flight tracking service is a timely solution.
Nathadon Suksiritarnan, Country Manager at Bolt Thailand, said: “Thailand’s airports are among the busiest in the world, and we know how stressful it can be to land and find transport—especially when plans change unexpectedly. With Bolt’s new Flight Tracking for Scheduled Rides, customers can book their ride in advance with peace of mind, knowing that if their flight is delayed, their driver will still be there, ready to pick them up when they land. As the first and only ride-hailing platform in Thailand to offer this feature, we are committed to making travel more seamless, reliable, and stress-free for both locals and visitors.”
How It Works:
- Tap the ‘Schedule’ button in the Bolt app and enter the pick-up location (airport) and destination.
- Select ‘Add flight details’ and input the flight number, airline, landing date, or departure city.
- Choose how long after landing the pick-up should occur.
- Bolt will automatically update the ride based on real-time flight status.
The feature is especially valuable in Thailand, where frequent flight delays occur during peak seasons and unpredictable weather. Whether landing at BKK, DMK, or HKT, passengers can rest assured their Bolt driver will be informed of any schedule changes.
Additionally, Bolt allows users to schedule rides up to 90 days in advance or as little as 30 minutes before departure, offering flexibility for all types of travel plans.
Globally, Bolt continues to expand its airport service offerings. With partnerships at over 30 international airports, the company is committed to improving airport transfer experiences with dedicated pick-up zones, in-app guidance, and seamless integration of travel details.
